Handbags have been an essential part of a woman’s wardrobe for centuries. Beyond being a practical accessory to carry personal belongings, they hold a special place in the hearts of ladies all around the world.
It’s a trend which has fuelled the incredible growth of the handbag industry in the past decade.

Our reporter from New Nigerian Newspapers, Hauwa Adamu Kidah, was on the streets to get the opinion of ladies on the subject matter.
According to Rukaya Yusuf, ” the main reason women carry handbags is to hold and organic personal items such as wallets, keys, smartphones, makeup, and other daily accessories.
“Handbags serve as a fashion accessory and can compliment an outfit. While women can certainly do without handbags, they have become an integral part of many women’s daily lives for practical and stylistics reasons.
Similarly , Fatima Umar Muhammad, said carrying a bag allows ladies to have everything they need on hand while on the go. Whether it carrying work documents, gym clothes, snacks for d kids, or a water bottle, having a handbag ensures that women are prepared for whatever the day may bring.
She added that, as a student handbags serves as a way to transport essential items such as books, laptops, phone and other personal belongings, as it also allows individuals to have their hands free and to avoid the discomfort of carrying items in their hands.
Also speaking to New Nigerian Newspapers, Habiba Adamu, added that handbags aren’t just as an accessory, but are also an essential component of one’s wardrobe.
She said, handbags are useful and can also enhance the look of a dress. It helps keep all the essentials in order and easily accessible, for formal events or a trip to the beach women’s handbags can improve their style.
“Bags are an integral element of any woman’s wardrobe. They can be used to store items for necessities and fashion statements for clothes” she stated.
