The House of Representatives Member-Elect of Akwanga/Nassarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency, Amb. Jeremiah Umaru has congratulated the Eggon ethnic group on the coronation of its new paramount ruler (Aren), Justice Ahmed Ubangari (rtd) following his selection by kingmakers and subsequent approval by Governor Abdullahi Sule.

In a goodwill message, Umaru, who holds the traditional title of Jakadan Wamba described the coronation as a new beginning for the ethnic group and assured the new Aren of his unflinching loyalty and cooperation to deliver on the job.

According to him, the appointment of Ubangari didn’t come as a surprise due to his sterling track records of transparency and accountability while in active service with the Judiciary where he rose to the position of Chief Judge of Nasarawa State.

“As the new Aren Eggon, I pray that God will give you the grace to apply your wealth of experience and God-given qualities in piloting the affairs of Eggon Traditional Council which will no doubt unite the different clans of the ethnic group and all the diverse ethnic groups within and outside your jurisdiction.

“Your Royal Highness, may you enjoy the revered throne of your ancestors. May God grant you wisdom, long life in good health as you reign and steer the ethnic group in the path of peace, unity and development.

“Once again, Congratulations to the New Aren Eggon and the entire Eggon ethnic group,” the message reads further.

The new Aren Eggon was appointed on Friday May 05 to succeed HRH Dr. Bala Abaine Angbazo who died in July 13, 2022. Until his appointment he holds the traditional title of Waziri Eggon.

He was coronated on Sunday May 07, 2023 as the 4th substantive Aren Eggon at the palace in Nassarawa Eggon, Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of the State and pledged to lead the ethnic group with the fear of God Almighty.
