Media Security WorkShop: NUJ Family Hails CAMPAN, Calls For More Media Training

The members of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council on Saturday drummed support for the Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (CAMPAN) over the media security workshop it organized for journalists in the state. 
Chairman NUJ Kaduna Council, Comrade Yusuf Adamu represented by the Vice Chairman, Comrade Mohammed Sabiu said that it is paramount to train and retrain journalists especially on issues of national security, recounting how banditry started in a small village in Zamfara in the year 2011 and the controversy that ensued on number of death and its implications.

According to Comrade Sabiu, journalists need to always attend workshops that gear towards capacity building for the career to sustain credibility and objectivity.


Speaking during the interactive session of the workshop, the NUJ Kaduna Council Secretary, Comrade John Femi Adi  said, “Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria on its part has done well for  organizing a workshop of this magnitude”
Also Speaking during his paper presentation, a former Chairman NUJ Kaduna Council, Comrade Andrew Fadason congratulated the Catholic Media practitioners for bringing the NUJ family together to brainstorm over crucial issues.


The workshop  had 48 journalists in attendance and a cross section of stakeholders.
