As 2023 general election approaches with major political parties already holding ward and state congresses that would produce delegates to elect leaders at the centre, PDP stakeholders of Kaduna Central Zone rose from a meeting drumming support for Ambassador Usman Sani El-Kudan as National Youth Leader of the opposition in the forthcoming convention of the party.
In a communique signed by conveners of the meeting Hon. Adamu Ahmed Dattijo, Ibrahim Ali and Rilwanu Abdullahi on behalf of other party stakeholders said the choice of El-Kudan was necessitated by his high pedigree, contributions , sacrifice and development of the party at grassroots across the state, adding that desired results needed for landslide in next election would be achieved .
The communique commended leadership of the party for zoning position of National Youth leader to Kaduna state, stating that the decision would go a long way in producing a virile and formidable party capable of taking over power at the centre in 2023.
Members at the meeting according to the position believed in leadership ability of El-Kudan as a grassroots mobilizer, capable of uniting youth across Nigeria in the party’s March to emerge victorious in the forthcoming 2023 general election.
“It is imperative at this critical stage of preparing for a national election that our great party is positioned on the right track with committed and patriotic members who will work for victory of PDP in the forthcoming 2023 election.
“This should begin by having loyal party men and women to occupy sensitive and important positions in our great party.
“Zoning of the national youth leader to Kaduna is apt considering immense contributions of the state in the party’s previous victories in previous national elections.
“We however appeal to our senior state cacaus committee members to further restrict the office to Kaduna Central Zone with Ambassador Usman Sani El-Kudan as our choice candidate.
“We solely believe in his exemplary leadership qualities and mobilization strategies to unite youth who form the largest bulk of our electorates towards ensuring victory for PDP at national and state levels in 2023.
“It is our conviction that the current nationwide popularity and acceptability the PDP is enjoying as a prelude to retaking over power by our great party at the centre and in several other states in 2023.
“It is therefore our collective prayer that our demand is answered by making Ambassador Usman Sani El-Kudan a consensus candidate to fill in position of National Youth leader of our great party”, the communique said.
