Lagos State Grassroots Soccer Association, organisers of the 2nd edition of Med-View Airline U-16 Boys and Girls Football Competition currently ongoing in Lagos has commended the Chief Executive Officer of the title sponsor, Alhaji Muneer Bankole for his efforts at empowering the youths through sports.
They gave the commendation during the official trophy presentation of the tournaments now in their quarter-final stages.
According to the body, the decision of the leading airline in the country to provide a platform for the youths to showcase their talents has led to two products of the championship becoming part of Lagos State U-17 Boys’ team.
“We’re grateful with the involvement of the company in promoting sports in the country. It’s also important that we appreciate Alhaji Muneer Bankole for his support to the tournament which produced two players for Lagos State,” they said.
In his remarks at the occasion, Alhaji Bankole expressed happiness at the successes recorded in the maiden edition, assuring that the company will continue to encourage Nigerian youths to excel in sports.
He also commended the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode for his efforts at developing sports in the state.
The tournaments which commenced a fourth night ago will be rounded up on Sunday April 30 at the Campos Mini-stadium, Lagos.
