BSU VC  Tasks Graduating Students To Be Good Ambassadors

 Vice Chancellor of Benue State University, (BSU) Makurdi, Prof Joe Tor Iorapuu has charged graduating students from the faculty of management sciences to continue to be good ambassadors  of the university.

Prof Iorapuu gave this charge in Makurdi at the dinner and award night organized by the Association of Masters of Business Administration Students, an umbrella body of all post graduate students of Department of business Management, Faculty of Management Sciences, BSU.

The VC,  represented by the Dean of Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof Timothy Alaba, noted that satisfying a customer is the ultimate goal for any good business man saying he is proud of the products they have become after passing through the tutelage of the Faculty.

Speaking to newsmen, Professor Alaba who is the Dean Faculty of Management Sciences, said, “Most of our students are graduating, we have the PGDM class, MBA, MSC PHD classes and PHD students, so the VC has asked me to come and wish them well.

“As a customer, once you are satisfied, it serves as an advertisement for that organization. He said most of the students coming behind them were as a result of the satisfaction they have gotten from the Institution and the Faculty of Management Sciences.

“We are here to communicate value in terms of management and intense of academic work and we are doing it well. The VC is impressed with the students of Faculty of Management Sciences and he wishes them well in their future endeavors in life.”

Alaba said the faculty under his leadership has ensure seamless graduation of students as at when due. “Those who are for PHD programs are supposed to be there for three years, they have been doing that, then MSC is for a year and three months at most and for MBA, two years or three semester while for PGM programme, it’s two semesters and they are through. Once you are hardworking, you do your programme and leave.” 

“In fact, we have been having a lot of students coming in because of referrals made by our students who are here. So we don’t have delays in the Department of Management Sciences.”

Earlier, the Head of Department, Professor Ipuele Ochugudu described the graduating students as the best set saying he would never forget them. 

While appreciating them for gift of a generator set, the HOD said their gift would leave a lasting impact on the entire faculty and he prayed God to bless them immensely.

Meanwhile, President of the Association of Masters of Business Administration Students, BSU, Engr 

Mike Onaji, appreciated the VC, the Departmental Heads and Lecturers for their hard work and efforts in moulding them into what they have become.

Onaji, who stated that it was his first time of attending a school where student and lecturers relate like family, pledged that they will sure tell of the good works the school is doing.

The students gave awards to four deserving lecturers and students for outstanding performances while in school. They include Prof. Timothy Alaba, Prof Ipuele Ochugudu, Prof. Joe Sev, Dr Wombo and Hon. Michael inalegwu, Musa Dauda, Michael Abah, Samuel Ojike and Charity

Orchir.
