Lagos NSCDC Intercepts Truck Load Siphoned Petroleum Product, Others, Arrests 2 Suspects

In yet another breakthrough, operatives of the Lagos Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has intercepted a truck load of petroleum products Automotive Gas Oil (AGO ) and 20 sacks of  Premium Motor Spirit ( PMS ) suspected to have been siphoned.

Two suspects were reportedly arrested in connection with the illegal dealing.

The latest breakthrough, which is the second success story, happens barely three weeks of resumption of the new State Commandant, Usman Ishaq Alfadarai.

Our correspondent reliably gathered that the seizures were made during two separate operations.

The suspects, identified as Muhammed Issah, 51, and Michael Adie, 28 , were said to have been apprehended with suspected adulterated AGO, loaded in a Mercedez Benz short truck, with registration number T – 11957 LA,.

It was learnt that they were intercepted along Ikate road, in the Lekki axis of the State, during a routine patrol by the operatives at about 07.13am on Tuesday, 7th February 2023.

DSC Abolurin Oluwaseun confirmed the report in a release made available to journalists on Friday.

He disclosed that the 20 sacks of Premium Motor Spirit ( PMS ), wrapped in twenty ( 20 ) sacks ( white in colour ), estimated to be about  2,000 litres, were seized at Lekiti and Ganho creeks of Badagry, during routine patrol and surveillance operations.

” The State Commandant has ordered that the suspects and exhibits from both operations highlighted above be brought to the State Command Headquarters, in Alausa, Ikeja, for further interogation and investigation on the matters, being presently handled, by the Intelligence and Investigation Department of the Command, in a bid to bring culprits to book.

” Finally, Alfadarai also seized, the occasion of this operation, to further reiterate the Command’s resolve and commitment to stamp out vandalism of all oil pipelines, illegal dealings in petroleum products and vandalism of other critical national assets belonging to the Government ( s ) in the state”,  Abolurin added.
