Cash Swap: Kaduna CP  Meets CBN,  Commercial Banks Executives, Sues For Calm

The Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, CP Yekini A. Ayoku psc(+), mni, on Thursday February 9, 2023, had a crucial meeting with top executives of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and commercial banks operating in the state.   

According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer  (PPRO), DSP Muhammad Jalige, dated Friday February 10, 2023,  the meeting was summoned following rising apprehension across the country as a result of challenges following the new cash policy of the CBN and the re-designed Naira notes. 

CP Ayoku received brief from the CBN and commercial banks representatives on measures taken in ensuring that law abiding citizens of the state and business communities get unhindered transactions done with little or no hiccups.

He charged them to put in more efforts at ensuring that businesses and other commercial transactions are aided smoothly in the state.

CP Ayoku also used the opportunity to appeal to business owners, and other essential services providers to embrace e-banking services, to make it possible for customers to pay through Point of Sales (POS) or other legally accepted secured ways of payment.

He further charged all good citizens of the state to be law abiding and always seek  the best peaceful means in resolving any matter related to the cash swap.

In their seperate remarks, the representatives of the apex   and commercial banks made  assurances of optimum service delivery in ensuring the difficulties being experienced by the public is minimally reduced.
