Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State has launched a security marshall outfit, comprising 100 vigilantes and hunters to support the Police in ensuring security in the area.
The Chairman of the Local Government Area, Alhaji Hassan Garban Kauye Farawa, made the announcement during a stakeholders’ meeting on security in the area, adding that each marshall is entitled to a monthly allowance of N20,000.
Farawa also said the local government council will build an area command office while donating a new vehicle to Ja’oji Police division and 10 motorcycles to some selected people to assist agencies in gathering information to bolster the security forces in their fight against criminal activities in the local government.
The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, who was represented by Kumbotso District Head, Alhaji Ahmad Ado Bayero, said all traditional rulers in the would contribute towards ensuring security in the area.
