Katsina Govt Approves Over N7bn To Fight Insecurity

 Katsina State Government has approved the sum of seven Billion, eight hundred and thirteen Million, four hundred and twenty three thousand, five hundred and sixty naira eighty three Kobo for the procurement of security equipments to address banditry and other criminalities in the state.

The state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasiru Ma’azu Danmusa disclosed this while briefing journalists during a courtesy visit to Katsina State Police Command and Headquarters of 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Katsina metropolis. 

Speaking separately during the visits, the Commissioner said the purpose of the visits is to seek for synergy and collaboration on how to improve security of lives and property in the state.

He noted that the State Government under Malam Dikko Umar Radda has shown readiness of tackling insecurity in the state.

He said the huge amount of money of over seven billion naira was approved to reposition security structure in the state.

The Commissioner identified some of the security challenges being faced in the state to include kidnapping, cattle rustling, and farmers-hedsmen clashes among others.

Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu noted that with the cooperation of all the Security personnel’s in the state, the problem would soon be overcome.        

Responding separately, the Commissioner of Police (CP) Aliyu Ahmad Musa and the Brigadier-General Oluremi Ayobami of the seventeen-brigades expressed their readiness to join hands with the Ministry in fighting Insecurity in the state.

According to them, officers and men of the two Security Agencies are ready to make Katsina State a peaceful place to live by all.

Those on the commissioner’s entourage included, permanent secretary of the ministry, Barrister Nasiru Almu Danmusa and the Special Adviser Community Watch, Yusuf Ibrahim Safana, among others.
