A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Bobai Victor Mathew, has said that the youth in the state have the potentials to help ensure the success of the 2023 gubernatorial and presidential elections for the party.

Speaking on Monday in an emergency meeting with members of Save Kaduna Group (SKG), Bobai Victor Mathew said that the state is blessed with youth that are hardworking and resourceful.

He noted, “Kaduna enjoyed good  governance when it was managed by PDP, we can’t compare the relatively peace we had in the past years, with what we are having now. I want to reaffirm my confidence in the PDP and boldly announce to you that the PDP will balance power from North and South of Kaduna for the sake of equity and justice.

“I have discussed with the elders of our party most especially our political hero, Senator Ahmed  Mohammed Makarfi, our state party chairman, Felix Hassan Hyat, our amiable and governor in waiting, Alhaji Isa Ashiru Kudan that they will give our youths priority by ensuring a bridge builder between the youths and the elders as a running mate to the PDP gubernatorial candidate.

“Our state is blessed with hardworking young men and women and therefore should be included in the buildup for good governance which PDP is known with over times. We are certain as a party that we can mange complexities, build bridges of hope and also ensure sense of fairness to all the citizens in the state.

“We are going to win the 2023 gubernatorial election with Muslim Christian ticket because PDP stands for fairness, equity and responsive governance. Anybody telling you Ashiru Kudan didn’t win election in 2019 then he is a stranger, our election was stolen and we have learned our leason.”

He assured that this time around with Kaduna youths, religious leaders, market women, civil servants, professional bodies and stakeholders in Kaduna shall form one formidable front to ensure that Ashiru Kudan is voted massively and also build mechanism of protecting their votes.

Bobai, however, called on the youths to team up with the PDP  in a bid to vote out the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in 2023 out of office.

The PDP chieftain accused the APC of refusing to show interest in the well-being and development of the Nigerian youths as well as allegedly holding them in the “highest form of disdain”.

In his remark, the leader of the team, Barrister Musa Zaria said, “I’ve always like this quote from former  Vice President Atiku Abubakar who said oil is not Nigeria’s greatest asset; our greatest asset is our youths who created Nollywood out of nothing and an entertainment industry that is second to none in Africa.

“Kaduna youths under the umbrella of Save Kaduna Group should know that the only way out is to rally round the PDP and take over power from APC who are very insensitive and abandoned her youths without adequate job opportunity and unending strike actions in their tertiary institutions.”

Barrister Sambo added, “The backbone of our successes is in the youth and unless they are in the forefront of our administration nothing meaningful will be achieved.”

The leader of the Women wing of the SAVE KADUNA GROUP, Pastor Mrs  Deborah Collins Joshua said, “APC is a party that plays irresponsible politics with everything unlike the PDP that ensure that she balance power to accommodate sensitivity, therefore Kaduna women will vote PDP.”
