The founder and General Overseer of Living Faith Church David Oyedepo has called for greater funding of the education sector as the greatest solution to Nigeria’s myriad of challenges.
Oyedepo who made this call on Thursday at the 12th inaugural lecture of Covenant University Ota advised the federal government to increase funding to the education sector in order to bail the country out of its challenges.
Oyedepo stated that investment in education was the major solution to the nation’s challenges.
According to him, the more enlightened the people were, the more solutions they proffered to the nation’s challenges.
He said, “The less we invest in education the more problems we create for the country.
“The future of any nation is in the quality of investment it makes in education.Any country that does not educate its population is bound to fail.
“There is the need for the authorities to invest heavily in education at all levels, no nation will help our country to put things right.
“The Federal Government should provide an enabling environment for the educational system to produce quality graduates for the growth and advancement of the country.
“There is nothing that could empower people like knowledge, the more enlightened people are, the more solutions they proffer to the nation’s challenges.”
