Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) Kaduna Command’s chapter had on Thursday 4th August, 2022 ended a two-days prayers and fasting with an interfaith session.

A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muhammed Jalige, said that the religious practice which was led by the State Chairperson of POWA and wife of the Commissioner of Police Kaduna Command, Alhaja Salimat Tinuke Ayoku, was devoted to bringing peace to Nigeria owing to the recent unmitigated security challenges.

It would be recalled that due to the persistent security challenges bedeviling the country which is taking its toll on Police Officers, the president of Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) cum the wife of the Inspector General of Police, Hajiya Hajara Alkali Baba Usman, has earlier instructed POWA members to embark on a two-day fasting and prayers to seek divine intervention.

During the prayer session, they prayed for an end to the security challenges in Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole. They also beseeched God Almighty to keep protecting their husbands and give them victory over the enemies of Nigeria in whatever guise in the course of their duties.

Alhaja  Salimat Tinuke Ayoku who was represented by the State POWA Secretary Mrs Grace Onoja, before the prayer session, advised wives of Police officers to always be prayerful, noting that, “the fervent prayers of the righteous never goes in vain as the Almighty Creator is merciful and hearkens to their cries.”

The two-day prayer session began on Wednesday August 3rd and ended on Thursday August 4th, 2022 when they converged to engage in congregational supplication.
