Insecurity: Katsina Govt Employs 2,400 Youth

Katsina State Government has began the recruitment of 2,400 dedicated and capable youth who will bolster security efforts in eight local government areas of the state. The eight affected local government areas includes,  Batsari, Danmusa, Safana, Jibia, Kankara, Sabuwa, Dandume and Faskari.   Deputy Governor of the state, Honourable Faruk Lawal Jobe according to a statement by Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, initiated the distribution of the application forms to respective local government chairmen.  Honourable Lawal Jobs said, “This marks a significant milestone in the state’s commitment to enhancing community safety and protection.  “The recruitment drive, aimed to empower local communities and strengthen security architecture, Honourable Jobe said has been a key campaign promise of Governor  Dikko Umaru Radda.”   The Katsina State Deputy Governor stressed that under theprogramme, eligible youth would receive comprehensive training and necessary equipment from experienced security officers, equipping them to safeguard the lives and property of their fellow community members.   ” A total of 303 youth will be engaged to work in tandem with security officers, supplementing their efforts,” he said,   Honourable Jobe emphasized Governor Radda’s unwavering determination to address security challenges across the state particularly in the local government areas severely affected by insecurity.   He consequently, affirmed the Katsina State Government’s commitment to engaging young individuals who exhibit good character, possess strong ties to their respective communities, and are below 35 years of age. Deputy Governor Farouk Lawal Jobe called on local government leaders and stakeholders to carefully select candidates who possess the willingness and capability to fulfill the objectives of the initiative.   He noted that, the success of the programme hinges on the collective effort and commitment of all parties involved.   Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Secretary of the State Government, Architecture Ahmad Musa Dangiwa disclosed that, the recently held meeting with local authorities confirmed that the Katsina Community Watch Corps programme would significantly improve security in areas where insecurity has become distressingly commonplace.   Architecture Musa Dangiwa assured that, the distribution of application forms signifies the commencement of the recruitment process, representing a crucial step toward achieving safer communities.   Architecture Ahmad Musa Dangiwa who offered guidance on the recruitment process success urged for the selection of trustworthy individuals and capable security officers to oversee the exercise.
