The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has called for increased intervention from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) in the state’s tertiary institutions,  in order to bolster educational development in the state.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to  the TETFund’s Executive Secretary, Arc. Sonny S.T. Echono in Abuja, Governor Mutfwang specifically sought infrastructural support for institutions like Plateau State University Bokkos, College of Education Gindiri, and Plateau State Polytechnic Barkin-Ladi among others.

He specifically requested the fencing and building of new hostels to enhance campus security and provide a conducive learning environment.

“I chose to approach TETFund due to the significance of these institutions for our educational development,” Governor Mutfwang stated.

Acknowledging the crucial role TETFund has played in supporting the state’s institutions in the past, the Governor said his administration has made positive impact on accreditation, staff morale, and overall institutional progress within the last seven months.

Governor Mutfwang expressed optimism that TETFund’s management would facilitate additional interventions to further enhance security and academic performance in the state’s tertiary institutions.

Responding, TETFund’s Executive Secretary, Arc. Sunny S.T. Echono, welcomed the visit and expressed the Commission’s commitment to providing additional support within the constraints of limited resources.

He acknowledged the positive collaboration with Plateau State on project implementation and emphasized TETFund’s dedication to assisting the state in producing the necessary manpower for national development.

Arc. Echono outlined TETFund’s multifaceted interventions, which include support for academic research and equal distribution of resources for infrastructural development to create a conducive learning environment.

He assured of the commission’s readiness to collaborate further with the state to improve the standard of living and educational opportunities for students.
