The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Waidi Shaibu has called on troops of 112 Task Force Battalion to remain focused, vigilant, resilient and professional in the discharge of their  operational responsibilities.

He also  charged  them to sustain an aggressive and ruthless posture against the remnants of Boko Haram Terrorists and their counterparts, the  Islamic State of West African Province in the Sector’s Area of Responsibility.

General Shaibu gave the charge on Saturday  during his operational visit to the frontline troops deployed in Mafa general area, in order to assess their operational posture, in light of the recent unfortunate developments in the theatre of operations, most especially the murder of  a number of farmers and fishermen by terrorists.

The GOC was received on arrival by the Commanding Officer Lt Col KA Onakoya who briefed him on the current security situation within his area of operation and later led him on a tour of the Battalion’s deployments.

In his remarks, the GOC emphasized that the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign was by no means over, and directed  all troops to remain vigilant at all times while conducting their operational activities.

The GOC further emphasised on the need to improve on the spirit of comradeship, while suppressing any form of infiltration and attacks from the degraded terrorists in the area, in line with the mandate of the Operation and express directives of the COAS, Lieutenant General F Yahaya, to decisively crush the remaining terrorists.
