Georgian Cup: Rubicon, Keffi Ponys to slug it out
Spectators are expected to be thrilled as the Guards Brigade Rubicon who were defeated by Kaduna El Amin in their opening Georgian Cup match on Sunday would be seeking to keep their hopes of winning the trophy alive when they clash with the Keffi Ponys today at the ongoing Kaduna International Polo Tournament.
Rubicon who comes into the game as favourites, having proved a good opponent to El Amin in their first game, would be facing a stiff challenge from Keffi Ponys who would be banking on their recent success at Fifth Chukker, where they emerged champions of the African Patrons Cup.
The main beneficiaries for Tuesday’s clash will be the fans who would enjoy competitive polo from ex law makers, Keffi Ponys, led by Honourable Wadada and Rubicon, led by Senator Hadi Sirika.
All fingers would remain crossed till 4pm when the six chukker game is expected to begin, as the Georgian Cup could still go either way.
Other matches billed for today are two for the NAHCO Cup and three for the El Amin Cup.
In the NAHCO Cup, Katsina Dan Marn would slug it out with Kaduna Sidler by 2pm, while Kaduna Sultana Farms battle Kaduna Jaiz Bank by 3pm.
12pm would feature today’s opening game between Bauchi Gubi and Katsina Gobarau. By 1pm, Guards Brigade Dallatu will ride into the turf to face Zaria Kuyambana and 2pm would be the turn of Minna Bosso to face Port Harcourt Octopus.
