Kano State will take advantage of its population by building capacity in its citizens and encouraging them to establish their businesses in all states of the federation.
Governor of the state, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje expressed this while speaking in Kaduna on Tuesday, while at the Peugeot Automobile of Nigeria (PAN), where he was to assess the 159 trainees sponsored by Kano State Government to acquire various automotive engineering skills.
“We have to make our population an asset by developing our youth. We are training you in a way that the skills become part of you. That the skills synchronise with your body,” he said.
Ganduje said that just like China which is the most populous nation on earth exports is citizens to countries all over the world, Kano would also equip and empower its citizens to excel all over Nigeria.
He said in view of that, a state-of-the-art multi skills acquisition centre is being constructed in Kano at the tune of N5 billion.
The governor told the trainees that he was physically present to visit them because of the premium his administration places on youth empowerment.
“The purpose of our coming here is to come and inspect, come and see for ourselves, come and give you encouragement and tell you what we have for you,” he said.
