FRSC Sector Commander warns against evading traffic at night

Tragedy struck at Boluwaji axis of the Lagos – Ibadan expressway in Ibadan on Tuesday night as a motor accident in the area claimed four persons.
New Nigerian learnt that from the accident, five others, including three women escaped death with one of them sustaining injuries.
The accident was said to have involved three vehicles comprising of two trucks said to be coming from Lagos axis of the expressway and a Dyna truck heading towards the Lagos axis of the road.
It was gathered that the driver of the Dyna truck reportedly took the wrong side of the expressway to avoid the night traffic in the area, during which he lost control and collided with the two trucks.
During the collision, sources in the area said the four persons lost their lives with three of those in the Dyna Canter giving up the ghost on the spot, while the fourth person died few minutes later.
However, five other persons in the three vehicles involved in the accident escaped death with only one of them sustaining injuries.
Oyo Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Corps Commander Joshua O Adekanye while speaking with the New Nigerian confirmed the accident.
Corps Commander Adekanye said four male adults died in the crash which occured around few minutes to 9pm on Tuesday night
According to the Sector Commander, the accident involved Two trucks and a Dyna Pick up whose driver was driving on the wrong side of the expressway before colliding on the Two trucks.
Corps Commander Adekanye then cautioned drivers against driving on the wrong side of the expressway to evade traffic especially in the night on major roads.
