Former Gov Ngilari, 2 others arraign in court for 160 million corrupt charges

Former Governor of Adamawa State Barrister Bala James Ngillari has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for N160 million financial misappropriations and misconduct while in office as the Chief Executive of the state.
Ngillari,who was arraigned with two others, the then Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Ibrahim Andrew Walye and former Finance Commissioner, Barrister Sanda Lamurde at Yola High Court Wednesday for 17 corruption related  count charges during  his nine months in office.
The accused were said to have awarded illegal contract for purchase of 25 vehicles for the state.
All the accused pleaded not guilty against the charges when the case was mentioned.
The presiding Judge, Justice Nathan Musa after cross examinations by the counsels, the defendants and prosecutors of the EFCCC on applications for bail, said the accused should be remanded in EFCC custody.
The was adjourned till today Thursday 22 and tomorrow 23 September for hearing.
