In view of the importance of ensuring food security for economic stability and prosperity, the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCMA) 3-day workshop and exhibition on post harvest management/technology and value chain financing has ended with participants calling for more investments in the agriculture sector.
The workshop which was held between Wednesday 23, to Friday November 25, 2022, turned out to be a much needed capacity building event for key stakeholders of the agriculture value chain.
The venue, Conference Hall, Kaduna International Trade and Investment Centre, was packed full all through the duration of the workshop, supported by the Bank of Industry (BOI).
In his presentation, Dr. Hassan Dalhatu of the Farm Input Support Department and focal person in Kaduna, harped on the need to leverage on sustainable technology in the agriculture value chain.
He explained the importance and how to use and apply organic fertilizers to food crops.
Dr. Dalhatu therefore, tasked participants and guests to make deliberate efforts at using quality seedlings to get yields worth their time and investments on their farms.
KADCCMA organised the workshop in collaboration with the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC.

The Chief Host was His Excellency, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, Executive Governor of Kaduna State, while Special Guest of Honour at the workshop, was Dr Mohammed Mahmood Abubakar.
His Highness, Emir Of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli CFR and KADCCMA grand patron, served as the Royal Father of the Day.
It would be recalled that a similar workshop was held in 2014.
