A road accident along the Kaduna-Kachia highway has claimed the lives of five persons, while two others sustained various degrees of injuries.
The accident happened on Sunday morning in the Idon community axis, involving a bus with 12 passengers and a Golf car with six passengers heading to Kafanchan.
Mr James Bayawa, a community leader in Idon who witnessed the accident while on his way to church service, explained that the accident was a result of overspeeding.
He explained that the dead and injured persons were all taken to St. Gerald Hospital, Kaduna.
The sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps did not pick up his calls for confirmation up till the time of filing this report.
