A peaceful protest has  rocked the streets of Jimeta, the administrative base of Adamawa as youth, women and notable government officials stormed the office of the Independent electoral commission (INEC) demanding justice.

The protesters in their thousands, were chanting, “Give us our mandate’, “Fintiri won” and were asking INEC to do the needful.

Chief Felix Tangwami, assistant Campaign Director of the PDP Presidential and Governorship Elections in the state, led the protest, alongside other  commissioners of Governor Umaru Fintiri-led administration.

It  would be  recalled that the declaration of Senator Aishatu Ahmed Dahiru Binani by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barr Yunusa Hudu Ari has thrown not only Adamawa State into  confusion, but the entire federation.

The debate in public fora is that Hudu does not have the constitutional mandate to declare Binani the winner of the inconclusive election, while results were being collated.
