FG, Moroccan, Jigawa Govt To Provide Solar Power Initiatives In NIgeria

The Federal Government in collaboration with Morocco, and Jigawa State Government are working towards providing solar powered initiatives  for enhancement of  energy to boost power utilization in the North West zone and other parts of the country.
The Jigawa State Commissioner  of Land, Housing, Urban and Regional Planning, Hon Sagir Musa Ahmed  disclosed this while featuring at Media Engagement Forum of the Jigawa State Correspondents Chapel of the NUJ at Manpower Development Institute in Dutse.
He said the proposed project will be sited in Gwiwa Local Government Area of the state, with an estimated 200,000 hectares of land allocation.
According to him, the solar power  energy is an initiative of the Morrocan government  in collaboration with the Federal and Jigawa State Government, specifically to improve power supply in the country especially in states like Zamfara, Jigawa, Katsina down to Yobe states. 
“It is expected to assist in advancement of power generation in the aforementioned states and the country in general,” he added.
He explained that under the proposed project, the present administration is committed to  actualizing the desired objective due to its significance.
Ahmed further stated that the ministry has also allocated 934,000 hectares of land for industrial purposes, 934,000 hectares for state and federal Institutions, while 192,000 hectares of land are designated for hospitals expansion and construction.
“What we are focusing on now is  to project our advancement in the next 10 years under a successful and efficient land administration system.
“Our plan is  to have a robust town planning initiative in our five emirate councils in the future, to look like modern cities,” he explained.
On the achievements of his ministry, the commissioner said,  “we have issued over 1,920 C of O certificates to rightful land owners through our systematic land administration procedures, designing and approving the provision of 500 housing units in major towns across the 27 LGAs in the state.
“Presently, we are working with World Bank Support Programme known as State Fiscal Transparency Property Registration for effective land control. 
“Others are family homes funds limited National Society Housing whereby about 8,000 housing was expected to be built for low income earners.”
