A one time Deputy Senate President during the Second Republic and former Speaker of the defunct Kaduna State House of Assembly, Alhaji Mamman Abubakar Danmusa has called for the establishment of more skills acquisition centers in Katsina State to put an end to rural and urban migration among the teeming youths across the state.
Alhaji Abubakar Danmusa stated this while speaking during the commissioning and handing over ceremony of a skills acquisition center to State Government which constructed in Danmusa town.
He said that, “I am handing over the skills center to the state Government to enable government equip the center with necessary equipments to help in training unemployment youth in the area”.
The former Speaker who was represented by his eldest son Malam Nuradeen Mamman Danmusa noted that the decision to construct the skill acquisition center was to promote youth empowerment to enable them become productive members of the society.
He therefore, appealed to well to do ones in the society to establish similar centers to motivate youth who are considered the back born of the society, adding that the center when patronize would help reduce immorality among the youth.
Alhaji Mamman Danmusa charged youths in the area to patronize the center to become self-reliant.
In a remark, after receiving the keys of the center on behalf of the Director General of the State Enterprises Development Agency, Hajiya Aisha Aminu Malumfashi, the Zonal Director of the Agency Alhaji Kabir Abdullahi Kofar-Soro lauded the foresight of Mamman Danmusa for the establishment of the center.
They described the center as a Sadaqatul Jariya, stressing that the center would create additional empowerment opportunities to youths in the area.
In a vote of thanks, the Magajin Malam of Katsina and District Head of Danmusa Alhaji Darda’u Mu’azu who was represented by the Wakilin Gurza Darda’u Gambo Danmusa appreciated the numerous contributions of Mamman Abubakar Danmusa for the development of the area.
In their separate remarks, Sarkin Kasuwa Bishir Yusifa Ahmadu Mai’Shanu and Nura Abdu both acknowledged the contributions being made by Senator Mamman Danmusa in taking the area to great height.
