Eid-el-Kabir: Katsina Emirate Pushes For Synergy Between Security Agencies, Communities

Katsina Emirate Council has called for synergy efforts among  security agencies, vigilante group, community leaders and other individuals to ensure successful Eid-el-Kabir festival in the state.

Magajin Garin Katsina, Alhaji Aminu Abdulmumini Kabir Usman made the call during an interactive session with relevant security agencies, ward heads, community leaders and other stakeholders ahead of the preparation for Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Alhaji Aminu Abdulmumini who was represented by Wakilin Kudu Audu Iliyasu pointed out that the meeting was organized to devise ways on how to secure life and property of people of the state during Sallah festival.

According to him, all hands must be on deck to ensure a hitch free conduct of Sallah festival in the state.

Earlier, the chairman of the committee, Alhaji Aminu Mamman Dee who is also the Cigarin Katsina, maintained that the meeting had become necessary as this Eid-el-Kabir celebration would not be celebrated with the usual mounting of horses.

He added that the delegation of the emir would use cars instead of horses, hence the need to review the security structure used during last Sallah festival considering the security challenges facing the state.

Alhaji Aminu Mamman D revealed that among the measures taken during the meeting was to ensure that the Eid ground at Kofar Yandaka would be closed two days before eid-el-Kabir day as well as ensuring that all roads leading to the place are properly cleared.

In their separate remarks, the representative of DPO of CPS and Sabon Gari Police stations and the Katsina Local Government Area vice chairman, assured of their full support and cooperation to the Katsina emirate to achieve the desired success.

Later, the committee took a tour to the Eid ground and the routes the emir would follow during the Sallah day.
