Ahead of the seven-day e-Naira Fair and Awards Week billed for Kano from July 17, 2022, a massive roadshow featuring trycycle riders has been held in the city to create awareness.
The rally which was fully endorsed by NACTOMORAS, the umbrella body of trycycle operators, saw the participants peacefully traverse the major roads in the city, carrying various banners promoting e-Naira.
They were also seen distributing handbills to the general public.
Speaking to newsman on the sidelines of the rally, CEO of Bizi Mobile Cashless Consultants, Alhaji Aminu Bizi explained that the initiative is targeted at creating awareness of ease of doing business using the e-Naira.
“As you can see, there is excitement everywhere. The tricycle operators have been told of advantages of opening e-Naira accounts and how it can save them time and energy while doing their business,” he said.
Alhaji Bizi explained that what was witnessed is the tip of an ice berg, as the main fair begins from July 17, where only e-Naira transactions would be entertained.
He explained that the one-week fair is being organized by Bizi Mobile Cashless Consultants, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
A commercial tricycle operator, Malam Usman Ibrahim said that they decided to key in because they have realized there would be greater benefits using the e-Naira platform.
“We are excited about this idea of e-Naira because it would save us a lot of time and reduce stress while doing business. The fact remains that besides being robbed sometimes of our daily income by unscrupulous elements, we will also save time used in looking for change for passengers,” Malam Ibrahim who spoke to our correspondent in Hausa, said.
