National leader of Accord Party and former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja on Saturday charged Nigerians and religious leaders to be preaching love to rebuild the country.
Senator Ladoja gave the charge in his Easter message made available to newsmen in Ibadan by the Accord Party State Publicity Secretary, Engineer Akeem Olatunji, also urging the people of Oyo State to be patient till 2019 as they vote Accord into power.
According to the former governor of Oyo State, in doing this, there was the need for Nigerians to continue to preach love and be models in tolerance and forgiveness at all times.
“Nigerians should join hands to rebuild the country with religious leaders preaching love and be models in tolerance and forgiveness,” he said.
The former governor emphasized that in the process of rebuilding the country, Nigerians must eschew hate speeches and all acts capable of inciting their fellows.
“We must eschew hate speeches and all acts capable of inciting our followers. We must avoid extravagant and flamboyant life styles in order to teach our followers simplicity and the need to avoid greed and avarice. These are the things we must do to get out of the doldrums,” he added.
On Oyo State, the Accord Party National leader advised the people of the state to be patient with the present administration pending 2019 when they will have the chance to give Accord Party the opportunity to set the state on strong economic footing.
“On the state of things in Oyo State, I urge the citizens to be patient with the present administration pending 2019 when the electorates will have the chance to give Accord the opportunity to set Oyo State on strong economic footing even as the essence of Easter is patience, fortitude and tolerance,” he said.
