Defamation Of Character, Theft: Bright’s Case Adjourned To May 17

A case between Commissioner of Police and Alhaji Abubakar Iliyasu (Bright) for the defamation of character and theft contrary to Section 321 cpc has been adjourned to 17th May, 2017 for the defence before the Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Chediya G.R.A. Zaria, Kaduna State.

The adjournment followed the defence counsel’s unreadiness and absent for the commencement of the defence Barrister A.A. Mohammed.

Chief Magistrate Awwal Musa ordered that the 1st and 2nd witnesses were discharged  and they will not be invited again.

The Judge said the defence lawyer can only invite the pw3 and pw4 for cross examination.

The case has been fixed for 17th May 2017 for the defence hearing.
