As part of activities marking Fatima TY Buratai’s wedding, daughter of former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, three friendly football matches were played.
In the first match played on Friday July 29, TY Buratai Academy locked horns with TY Buratai FC Borno.
The match ended 3-0 in favour of the home boys, Buratai Academy.
The first goal came in the 15th minute after OSHA converted a penalty after a foul in the box.
Sarkin Ado put Buratai Academy two goals up in the 63rd minute, while Dan Bukur sealed victory for his team in the 85th minute, ending the game 3-0.
In the second match on Friday, TY Buratai Academy beat African Sports FC Keffi 2-0 in a match played earlier.
Two other matches were played on Saturday, one before and the star match, after the colourful wedding ceremony.
In the first match, TY Buratai Academy beat Tukur and Tukur FC Kaduna 2-0.
In the star match, TY Buratai Academy were forced to a 1-1 draw with Biu United FC Biu.
The President and the founder of Ty Buratai Football Academy Keffi, in person of Engr. Hassan Mohammed organised the football friendly matches to honour, the Lt. Gen Amb Tukur Yusuf Buratai (Rtd) in his turbaning ceremony as Garkuwan Keffi and also in accordance with his daughter’s wedding.
