Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Rahman Abiodun Abdu-Raheem has disclosed that 4,545 candidates sat for the 2022 Competitive Entrance Examination into the seven science schools and Igbo Elerin Grammar School in the state.
Barrister Abdu-Raheem made this known while speaking with journalists after monitoring the conduct of the entrance examination in Ibadan.
The Commissioner said the exercise and the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) is highly commendable and that the process was geared towards enhancing a qualitative educational system in the state.
He maintained that the registration of candidates for the examination was made free, in line with the free education policy of the present administration.
The Commissioner pointed out that the examination was hitch free in all the Computer – Based Test (CBT) centres in the state and that the few problems experienced in the early hours were promptly addressed.
Attributing the few problems to the inability of some candidates to use the computer properly, the commissioner emphasized the commitment of the government to promoting the use of technology, in all levels of education in the state.
Barrister Abdu-Raheem expressed delight at the impressive turnout of candidates, while equally commending the parents and guardians for their promptness.
During the monitoring, the commissioner visited The Polytechnic Ibadan CBT Centre, and Yinbol College CBT Center, Orogun, Ibadan.
