Katsina State Commissioner of Police Aliyu Abubakar Musa has called on citizens of the state to continue to be law – abiding and avoid taking law into their hands.
Commissioner of Police Abubakar Musa was reacting on the arrest of eight suspects who aided a suspect’s escape and attack on a Police Patrol Vehicle at Kofar Guga in Katsina Metropolis.
A statement by Public Relations Officer of the Katsina State Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu said the fact of the case was that, “today, July 4, 2023, at about 1300 hours a commercial motorcycle rider, in a bid to escape arrest by men of the Command’s State Motor Traffic Division (MTD) while discharging their lawful duty, fell on the ground.
While the suspected motorcyclist escaped, his motorcycle was crushed by a passing truck.”
ASP Sadiq Aliyu said “In light of the foregoing, some unscrupulous elements took advantage of the situation, aided his escape, and attacked the Police Patrol Vehicle.”
Assistant Superintendent of Police Aliyu explained that, upon received of the report, the Area Commander Metro mobilized and moved to the scene, where he rescued the situation and succeeded in arresting eight suspects for aiding the escape of the suspect and the attack on the Police Patrol Vehicle.
