*Tambuwal loses Minority Leader position

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has named Opeyemi Bamidele as Majority Leader of the 10th Senate.
Announcing the names of other Principal Officers of the 10th Senate yesterday’s plenary, Akpabio named former governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi as Deputy Majority Leader.
Ali Ndume is the new Majority Whip of the Senate, while Lola Ashiru is Deputy Majority Whip.
Similarly, the President of the Senate announced Plateau North Senator, Simon-Davou Mwadkwon, of the Peoples Democratic Party as the Minority Leader of the 10th Senate.
He also announced another PDP Senator, Oyewunmi Olalere from Osun West as Deputy Minority Leader.
Abia Central lawmaker, Darlington Nwokocha of the Labour Party is the new Minority Whip, while his counterpart from Kano Central, Rufai Hanga of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) is Deputy Minority Whip.
