A hoodlum suspected to be a cultist has smashed the head of an 11-year-old qur’anic school pupil at Kofar Wambai Quarters of Bauchi metropolis where he evacuated his liquid brains for alleged ritual purposes.
Some residents of the area when contacted on the incident, alleged that someone called two pupils and lured them into a corner where he gave them a tasty thing before he killed and evacuated the brains of one of them.
The other pupil scared with the nasty operation, escaped out with shock, run to some persons around and told them what had happened, and on reaching the site they discovered the dead body of the pupil and alerted the police on the matter.
Bauchi State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Muhammad Ahmad Wakil who confirmed the incident, said the police received a distress call from a good samaritan that an unknown person has used a stone and brake the skull of the almajiri pupil.
“Two “Quranic school pupils, Muhammad Yunusa 11- year old and Aminu Yusuf (12) years were deceived by an unknown person who used a stone to break the skull of Yunus and run to an unknown destination”, PPRO said.
Wakil explained that immediately the police received the call they went to the scene of the incident where they met Yunus lying in full blood, and they took him to the specialist Hospital, Bauchi for autopsy where a medical doctor certified him death.
He stated that the State Commissioner of Police, Sylvester Abiodun Alabi has directed the Divisional Police Officer DPO, A division to act with immediate effect and not left any stone unturned in bringing perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.
Superintendent of Police Wakil therefore advised parents to monitor the movements of their children and not to allow them to answer call from strangers in the name of giving them anything.
