Bauchi SBMCs to enjoy educational grants

School Based Management Committees (SBMCs) in Bauchi state are to enjoy grants ranging between N200, 000 to N250, 000 to enable them maintain their schools under the State Education Programme Investment Project (SEPIP).
Bauchi State SEPIP Coordinator, Dan’Azumi Zakari Tilde said at the SBMCs membership training in Bauchi Wednesday that about 3, 400 committees of 200 primary, junior and senior secondary schools participated in the training.
Already, Tilde said, seventeen members were selected from each of the 200 schools during the training categorized into six centres namely Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP), Colleges of Education Kangere and Azare, CLIS Misau, College of Health Technology Ningi and the Gadau campus of the State University.
The Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Education, Nasiru Mohammed Yelwa had earlier while declaring the training opened, appealed to the benefitting schools to judiciously utilize the grants being given them.
Alhaji Nasiru Yelwa also urged participants of the training programme to pay greater attention to the resource persons in order to gain and impact same to other teachers in their various schools.
Also speaking, the Rector ATAP Bauchi, Dr. Suleiman Mohammed Lame noted that the resource persons are professionals in various fields of education and excelled in academic performance.
Dr. Suleiman Lame also expressed delight that the Polytechnic would commence awarding Higher National Diploma (HND) and Degree programmes this academic year, 2016.
