Banditry: Peace Restored In 13 Katsîna LGAs

Peace in thirteen out of twenty two local government areas facing security challenges in Katsina State has been restored, the State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Faruq Lawal Jobe has said.

Speaking while briefing journalists on the success recorded in the fight against security challenges, Alhaji Lawal Jobe said the achievements were due to maximized pressure mounted on the  bandits by the Joint  Security Operatives and the Personnel of Community Security watch Corps.

Deputy Governor Lawal Jobe named the thirteen local government areas as:- Dutsinma, Charanci, Ingawa, Bindawa, Kusada, Funtua, Batagarawa, Kurfi, Danja, Bakori, Malumfashi, Kafur and Matazu.

“Even though there are record of killings and abductions of some innocent citizens by the bandits but substantial number of them were also killed by the joint security operations and the personnel of communiy security watch,” Alhaji Jobe.

   Alhaji  Jobe who regretted the killing of the C-watch commender in kankara  retired ASP Sanusi Hassan, by the     group of bandits during an encounter, however said a number of them were also killed., while a total of 152 cattles  recovered 

While comesurating with the family and people of kankara over the killing , Alhaji Faruq jobe emphasized that government would not enter any peace accord with  the bandit’s 

He said with the formation of community security watch corp, in the state, over 1341,cattles,633 sheeps,423 goats,13 camels and three donkeys were recovered,

The Deputy governor who appreciated the efforts of both the security personnel and member of the C-watch for their effort in the fight against banditry, however urged members of the public to do more in ensuring timely reports of bandits movement, and those supplying them with food items, fuel and Ammunition as well as others selling ready made sim cards that may be used in commiting crimes for prompt action.
