Chairperson of Nigeria Association of women Journalists ( NAWOJ) Imo State Chapter, Dr. Dorothy Nnaji at the weekend, said that the two months old baby whose right hand was recently amputated, baby Miracle is alive, hale and healthy.
The Imo State NAWOJ Chairperson in a statement, dismissed what she called an untruthful story making waves on the Social Media about the demise of baby Miracle, describing it as, “ungodly and a conspiracy from pit of hell.”
Dr. Nnaji in the statement, said that on hearing about the rumours, she “had to rush to the hospital to ascertain how truthful the story was. Upon getting to the hospital, she found out that both baby and mother are in good condition of health”.
Describing the Information as a hoax, Dr Nnaji called on all good people of Imo State to disregard such devilish, unfounded and inhuman actions and Information as false.
The Imo State NAWOJ Chairperson while expressing disappointment and dissatisfaction that someone would contemplate such thought to befall innocent and harmless Miracle, as if what the little baby is going through is not enough torment, called on good spirited people to continue to pray for the soonest recovery of baby Miracle to enable him to be discharged from hospital as she called for support for the family.
New Nigerian recalls that the lmo State NAWOJ, National Human Rights Commission Imo State and other CSOs in the state recently called on the State Government and Commissioner of Police in the state to arrest a 31 years old man, Mr Confidence Amatobi for assaulting his two months old baby named Miracle, which led to the amputation of his right arm from the shoulder.
Imo State NAWOJ Chairperson, Dr Dorothy Nnaji who on behalf of the ssociation visited the baby at Federal Medical Center Owerri, frowned at the act, describing it as beastly and wondered how a father could assault his child in this manner, a harmless two months old baby because he was crying while he repeatedly hit the baby with a plastic hanger to stop him from crying.
