Agriculturalist advise Communities to form Cooperative Society

The Zonal Extension Officer Maigana Zone of Kaduna State Agricultural Development Project (KADP) Alh. Dahiru Aliyu has stressed the need for communities to form an association for their development instead of waiting for government to provide everything for them.
Alh. Dahiru Aliyu made the call at the inuaguration of Danmagaji Zaria Martaba Commercial Farmers Cooperative Society Empowerment Body held at its office at Danmagaji, Zaria.
He said, now that the present administration has indicated its readiness to work with Cooperative Societies and associations for all its agricultural programmes, people should form associations in order to benefit from such programme.
According to him no meaningful development can be achieved by any single person above those in a cooperative society which unite and direct people into a sensible position.
Alh. Dahiru congratulated the members for agreeing to form the society as a means of assisting themselves.
In his remarks, the treasurer of the Empowerment body, Alh. Abubakar Rilwan said, the body will serve as an instrument of surgery to members of the public who are willing to help themselves in their business activities and everything will be done according to statutory laws to avoid abuses in the body’s funds.
Alhaji Rilwan assured that unless person has met the requirements stated, he will not be given the assistance.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman Danmagaji Zaria Martaba Commercial Farmers Cooperative Society Alh. Umar Ahmed Ma’aji said, the society has faced a very challenging task before coming on board and now the jorney has began with many successful records.
Alh. Umar Ma’aji said the first step is the society has engaged in Zobo farming this year and now the creation of empowerment body while members are waiting for the wheat farming for dry season organized by the Kaduna State Government.
