Address Deteriorating Security Situation In Nigeria, Oyo NUJ Tasks FG

Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) over the weekend, tasked the Federal Government to without wasting time, address the ” deteriorating security situation in Nigeria”.
The Council made the call in Ibadan in a communique issued at the end of its state Congress signed by its Secretary, Comrade Sola Oladapo.
Condemning what it referred to as the deteriorating security situation in Nigeria”, Oyo NUJ in the communique, emphasized that the time has come for the Federal government to rise to the challenges ahead the country.
Oyo NUJ stressed that there is also the need for the governors in South West States to secure the borders of the region against the bandits and terrorists fleeing the Northern states. 
Tasking security agencies not to relent in their efforts at tackling the security challenges in the state, Oyo NUJ noted with dismay the continuous borrowing culture of Mr. President, Muhammed Buhari, cautioning the President ” to desist from this unbecoming  culture, which may affect the country in future. “
The congress while lauding the giant strides of the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration on infrastructural development of the state, especially on road repairs and urged the government to urgently begin some palliative measures on major roads within Ibadan metropolis. 
On COVID-19, the congress charged  Journalists to take advantage of the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination across the nation by getting  vaccinated, to protect themselves and their families from the deadly virus. 
Parts of the communique reads  :
*The union condemned the deteriorating security situation in Nigeria and called on Federal Government to urgently address the issue. 

* The union also called on the governors in South West States to secure the borders of the region against the bandits and terrorists fleeing the Northern states. 

* The union called on the security agencies not to relent in their efforts at tackling the security challenges in the state.  
* The union also noted with dismay the continuous borrowing culture of Mr. President, Muhammed Buhari. The Union therefore cautioned the President to desist from this unbecoming  culture, which may affect the country in future. 
* The congress commended the Comrade Demola Babalola led administration in NUJ for giving the Council Secretariat a face-lift. The congress also observed the legacies and achievements of his administration.
