The leadership of the Nigeria’s Citizens Action Group (NCAG), has said that it had no plans for any violent or any form of action on Monday, 20th September, 2021 to discredit Mr President and the embattled CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele.
Th group noted that there was a press statement purpotedly issued by one Obe Agu, an impostor masquerading as its member alleging that the group is planning a violent protest to discredit Mr President and the embattled CBN Governor, stressing that the impostor went further to pass a vote of confidence on Mr Emefiele and his failed Economic Strategy, thereby unintelligently unveiling  the origin of the statement.
The statement issued by the Convener of the group, Comrade Isah Abubakar, said that the statement came when NCAG called on him (Mr Godwin Emefiele) to either resign or be sacked by Mr President, or in the alternative, they mobilise their members and suffering Nigerians to occupy the CBN Headquarters in Abuja and other branches in different states of the Federation.
According to the statement, “The failed CBN Governor’s agent dubiously dragged the name of Mr President into their statement to get a soft landing and draw shameful sympathy. We wonder when he started loving Mr. President than us the common masses.”
The group challenged him (Godwin Emefiele) to produce the 2015 and 2019 election results of his polling unit to see if indeed he supported the emergence of Mr President practically to prove the love President BUHARI beyond the goodies of the office he is currently occupying and shelfishly  destroying Mr President good will among citizens.
The group noted that its inspiration is drawn from one of the campaign promises of Mr President, wherein he promised to equate the exchange  rate of Naira to Dollar.
“We will stand by him to achieve that. We won’t continue to fold our hands and watch people who worked against Mr President Political Aspiration in 2015 to succeed in labelling  him as failure when he eventually leaves office without fulfilling his campaign promise. Mr President and above all, Nigeria must win this worthy battle in the long run,” the statement explained.
The group said it is yet to fix a date for its planned mass actions against the failed CBN Governor whose resignation or sack it has unconditionally demanded for, for  obvious economy woes he is subjecting over 200m Nigerians into.
It lamented, “Our currency has never exchanged for $1 to N575 except under his watch. Nigerians can’t go deeper than this. The time to save the Naira is now. We are determine to do that.”
It noted that the two weeks ultimatum as contained in its earlier press release is still sacrosanct, adding that it would elapse on Thursday, 23rd September, 2021, after which the group said it will activate its next plan of actions.
It lamented that the agent contracted to impersonate and maligned its noble  organization and its leaders before media are unintelligent and unprofessional in their newly found trade, saying that it is the same as the one driving the economy which has brought to its knees.
“As we remain firm on our position #EmefieleMustGo, we are unshaking in our planned peaceful mass action against the continue stay of the failed CBN Governor in office,” the statement emphasized.
