*Urges people to support donor, Senator Kaka Shehu

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State on Monday, flagged off the distribution of poverty alleviation and empowerment equipment, machines, engines and other facilities to members/constituents of Borno Central Senatorial District procured and donated by Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, Senator representing Borno Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly competency project at the Multi Purpose Hall of the Government House, Maiduguri.
He commended Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan for such gesture at this critical period of economic hardship, while urging people to continue to support him, stressing that, ” it is not easy to serve the large number of people of Borno Central Senatorial District due to the large size of the population and land mass, which is equal to two more senatorial districts in some states.
The governor who stated this while flagging of the distribution of the items, added that, “governance or leadership is not an easy task. As such, people should be patient with the political office holders and bare with them in terms of provision of welfare, empowerment and poverty alleviation materials and other means of livelihood support to the constituents.”
Speaking at the occasion, Senator Kaka Shehu who is also the donor of the materials, expressed profound appreciation to the governor and leaders of the ruling party in the state and at the national level, as well as the LGAs, while urging the beneficiaries to make proper use of the items given to them to alleviate their sufferings and hardship.
He also promised to continue to serve them better and more appropriately while assuring those who did not benefit in the first batch of the exercise to be patient as they will benefit in future in the subsequent distribution exercise.
The federal lawmaker further charged them to be law abiding and obey constituted authorities.
The Chairman of APC Borno State, Hon. Bello Ayuba in his remarks, thanked Senator and governor for their support and welfare packages to the people, especially members of the party, while commending the Senator for serving his constituents in a seamless and appreciable manner as well as carrying party members along.
A total of 9,729 beneficiaries drawn from the eight LGAs of the Borno Central Senatorial District, namely, MMC, Jere, Konduga, Mafa, Dikwa Bama, Kala Balge and Ngala LGAs with beneficiaries cutting across
party leaders, youth, women leaders, vigilante CJTF and hunters leaders as well.as community leaders
The items Include, 20 BAJAJ RE Keke NAPEP Tricycles, 100
grinding machines, 120 Two Lion Sewing Machines, 20
SV5200 generators, 250
Skyrun. BD 300 HNW Chest Freezers, 250 knapsack 16L sprayers and 150 SUMEC WP 20X Water Pumps.
Highlights of the event included photographs, and symbolic distribution of the items, among others.
