Benue  Gov  Donates Vehicles To  Judicial Officers

In order to enhance  conducive working atmosphere, Governor of Benue State, Rev Fr  Hyacinth Iormem Alia has donated six Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV) to the Benue State Judiciary.

Presenting the vehicles in Makurdi, Benue State capital,  Governor Alia said the vehicles are part of the resolve of his administration to ensure the welfare and effective service delivery of the Judiciary in the State.

Governor Alia commended the Judiciary for their services, urging them to do more to ensure that law and order are strictly maintained in the state.

The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Public Order, Barr. Fidelis Bemsen Mnyim who made the presentation on behalf of the governor appreciated the Governor  the gesture and enjoined  them to make ensure that the vehicles are use for the general Interest of the judiciary system.

Speaking further, the Commissioner  said 4 of the cars are for the Benue State High Court Judges while 2 of the cars are for the Judges of the Customary Court of Appeal Benue State. 

He appreciated the Governor for promoting the rule of law particularly by granting autonomy to the judiciary in the state to perform optimally.

Recall that during the just concluded National Judicial Review Summit which was put together by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN had commended the Benue State governor for granting autonomy to the Benue State judiciary, urging other state governors to emulate Governor Alia.

The Summit applauded Governor and said for Governor Alia of Benue to have complied with section 121 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) by the fifth alteration Act, he has integrity and is ready to run a transparent Government.
