Three Soldiers, One Vigilante Arrested Over Kidnapping  In Zaria

Three Nigerian soldiers, Sergeant Alhaji Oloche  and CPL Namo Daniel  attached to Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria following the insecurity threat around the institution, have been arrested for alleged kidnapping.
Also arrested, is another soldier, PTE Danladi Hadau along with members of vigilante group,  identified as  Ibrahim Mohammed was also arrested, while Mustapha Kasim also a member of Vigilante Group is at large.

They were accused of abducting Sarkin  Dorayi Village in Zaria Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Lawal Ahmed on March 3, 2022.

The suspects were arrested while attempting to collect ransom around Dumbi Dutse area in Zaria last weekend.

“After they kidnapped him, he was detained in an unused toilet at Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic for cover 24 hours with his eyes closed before the bargaining began.
It was gathered that they demanded the sum of N3m ransom or else they will take him to Army Headquarters in Abuja  but after bargaining, they agreed for N1m. 
In the process of collecting the agreed N1m ransom at a meeting point around Dumbi Dutse in Zaria, a member of the vigilante, Ibrahim Mohammed who went to collect the ransom was arrested by the Police.

The three soldiers have been detained by the military facility in Zaria while the Sarkin Dorayi Village and the vigilante were said to have been invited by the Military for testifying on the alleged crime committed by the personnel.
When contacted on the matter, the PPRO Kaduna State Command ASP Muhammad Jalige promised to call back but up till the time of filing this report, he didn’t respond nor pick calls.
