53 Young Lads File Out In Maiden Nimrod6Nineteen Volleyball Talent Hunt

No fewer than 53 potential world beaters are currently undergoing rigorous drills to introduce them to the rudiments of volleyball at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna in the maiden edition of the Nimrod6Nineteen Talent Hunt which began in Kaduna on Friday July 1, 2022.

The talent hunt which attracted male and female players from all over the country, attracted only male players above  six feet, the female players are not below 1.7 metres.

Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of the talent hunt, President of the NIgeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod said that it was organised to bring back the era of tall volleyball players to the national team.

He explained that in the  1980s, NIgeria had tall players wearing  it’s national colours who were predominantly above six feet, which naturally is added advantage.

He was optimistic.that the outcome will impact positively in Nigeria’s dominance of the sport within a few years.

In an interview with newsmen, National U-19 Volleyball coach, Vincent Unogwu said that the players will be groomed under watchful eyes of six experienced instructors.

Unogwu commended the President of the NVBF, Engineer Nimrod for bankrolling the talent hunt, which he said would give NIgeria an edge in volleyball in no distant time. 

He said that Engineer Nimrod is graciously providing three square meals to all those that are participating in the talent hunt.

0The coordinator also disclosed that transport subsidy is also provided for all the potential players.
