The Collation of Northern Groups (CNG)

has raised alarm, claiming that about two million Northerners have been displaced by insurgents, bandits and kidnappers.
Speaking at a peaceful rally in Zaria, the CNG Deputy Coordinator  North West, Comrade Sani Sa’eed said attacks  have increased on innocent people despite deployment of security forces to these conflict zones.
He said, the situation goes beyond the limit of any single security organization to include everyone  involved in defining a nation’s strategic priority.
The protesters called on the government to mount and sustain special operations on Zaria to Kaduna Highway,  Kaduna to Abuja, Kaduna to Birnin Gwari, Funtua to Zamfara, Funtua to Katsina and Zamfara state respectively.
Also, the coalition called for the total dismantling of terrorists enclaves and the murderous elements should be eliminated or arrested to face the full wrath of the law.
According to them, “presently, Nigeria is like a silk gown, if you fold one part, the other part will unfold itself.”
Comrade Sani Sa’eed added that every Nigerian citizen has a role to play in tackling security challenges facing the country at large and Northern Nigeria in specific because the North today is like asinking ship that is about to capsize.
