President of Scrabble Federation f Nigeria, Suleiman Garuba Gura says that the recent emergency of a Nigerian as the world scrabble champion will lead to the development of the game in the country.
Nigerian born, Wellington Idighere a fortnight ago in Australia defeated other athletes from different parts of the World   to emerge as the new world scrabble champion.
In an interview with our correspondent, Gura stated that his achievement is an indication that Nigeria boasts of some of the best scrabble players in the world but only need encouragement and support to enable them excel in the game.
“I am highly delighted that Idighere not only defeated other athletes but showed the World that Nigeria is capable of holding their own among the best athletes in the World.
“Having emerged World Champion, the duty of the Federation s to consolidate on the achievement and give him and other athletes all necessary support to enable them win more laurels for the country in future” he stressed.
