Ahead of 2023 general elections, the Chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Barr. Clement Omenkannaya Odah has emerged winner of the House of Representatives primary election for Ohaukwu/Ebonyi Federal Constituency.
They council chairman beat his closest rival, a former Commissioner for Market Development, Pst. Eze Nwachukwu Eze who polled 139 votes, to fly the flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to represent Ohaukwu/Ebonyi Federal Constituency, come 2023 general election.
While announcing the result of the election in Abakaliki, the returning officer, Mr.Christopher Okey, who led an authentic electoral panel from National APC Secretariat, Abuja, disclosed that number of delegates in Ohaukwu is 75, while that of Ebonyi is 65.
He further disclosed that the total number of delegates for the primary is 140 while those accredited were 139.
According to him, Odah Clement pulled a total votes of 134 to beat his rival Eze Nwachukwu Eze, who scored 3 Votes.
He added that two votes were valid, while one of the delegates was absent.
Addressing the delegates after the primary election, Barr. Clement Omenkannaya Odah, who appreciated them for turning out enmass, expressed satisfaction with the process.
