ABU Zaria Medical Complex Staff begin idefinite strike

The Medical Complex staff Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria have began an indefinite strike following the expiration of the ultimatum given to the University management to settle all their outstanding entitlement from January 2014 to date.
Our correspondent reported that the medical staff resolved to embark on the strike because of the University management’s failure in resolving the issues at stake after several meetings between the Medical Complex representatives and the University management.
The strike action commenced at 12.00 midnight on Friday and all affected complex were closed. They are Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Vetrinery Medicines, and University Health Services.
With this development, health services within the University campuses have been paralyzed and urgent step need to be taken immediately to avoid anything untoward with regards to health within the University community.
At the time of filing this report, there wass no response from the side of the university management on the strike issue.
