The death has occurred of Senior Assistant Media and Publicity to Governor of Borno State Isa Umar Gusau.
Reports reaching New Nigerian Newspapers indicate that Mr. Gusau died in an Indian hospital on Thursday evening, following a prolonged ailment.
The 47-year-old served Governor Zulum’s predecessor, now Vice president Kashim Shettima in same capacity as spokesman.
Isa Umar Gusau graduated from Kaduna Polytechnic before joining Daily Trust Newspaper as a reporter.
A job that took him to Borno State as the tabloid’s correspondent, where his paths crossed with Kashim Shettima.
The encounter that would consequently blossom into relationship that lasted for close to two decades.
