Zamfara Govt Employs 250 Road Marshals

Zamfara State Government has approved the immediate employment of two hundred and fifty (250) youth to serve as Road Marshals with the State Road Traffic Agency (ZAROTA) to help in reducing road congestion and accidents on some major roads

across the state.

 The employment aimed at reducing unemployment among youths in the state, according to a statement by the Director General (DG) on Media and Communications to the Governor, Alhaji Nuhu Salihu Anka would

also help at cushioning the present economic hardship being faced in the state and the country at large.

“This was part of the resolution reached at the state executive council meeting, chaired by Governor Dauda Lawal, held at council chambers, Gusau, Alhaji Salihu Anka said.

 DG Anka said the executive council meeting which was the Sixteenth, also directed the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General to establish a Tribunal that would be assigned with the responsibility of handling Traffic offences in the state.

Similarly, he said the meeting approved for the provision of two trailer parks in the state in order to reduce roads congestion and other traffic irregularities caused by the drivers of the vehicles.

During the meeting, Nuhu Anka explained, Governor Lawal has received comprehensive reports on the position of various ongoing projects that cover various sectors of the state. 

The meeting, he emphasized was attended by the state Deputy Governor, Honourable Mani Malam Mummni, Secretary to the state Government, Alhaji Abubakar Nakwada, Chief of staff, Alhaji Mukhtar Lugga and all members of the state executive council.
